Born in York in 1971, Catherine Pavers, an aspirational mother to be proud of, started her new company desire to discover the ideal style for everyone’s feet using a £200 bank loan (she told them for a sofa!).
Their company started off tiny, at village halls and house parties, but it grew as she sought and sold shoes that looked wonderful and fit well. Later on, Cathy was joined by her sons Graham, Stuart (Managing Director), and Ian, who have helped to foster the family business and this desire, drive and passion to be a leader in fashionable yet high quality comfort footwear.

Pavers are aware that using energy results in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases altering the environment. At their head office, then, they have the most recent technology that enables them to be giving something back. They constructed a renewable energy system in 2011, mounting solar panels on their warehouse roof to produce some of their own electricity; presently, we can provide 25% of the required head office and warehouse power. Pavers employ a motion-sensing, energy efficient lighting system and a rainwater collection system and can then plug back into the grid.
