Coming Up on Sky: What’s New in Entertainment

As much as summer has ended, September is the best time to get into the house again and acquaint yourself with the television remote control. Thankfully, you will not be starved of choice this September as there are plenty of new television series and films to watch on Sky and NOW.

However, new televisions will be available to you in September from more than just Sky and NOW. September 12th will see the release of Emily in Paris S4 Part Deux and Nicole Kidman will be featured in the new six-part series The Perfect Couple based on the bestselling novel by Elin Hilderbrand. The fourth season of Slow Horses, which will be aired on Apple TV, will be starring Gary Oldman as the ethereal Jackson Lamb. Dancing competition Strictly Come Dancing is coming back to BBC in September and a group of celebrities will be dancing for the glitterball.

What about NOW and Sky? New episodes of the comedy series and the heists of the Brassic gang are back this month in Series 6. The Penguin, a prestige drama series starring Colin Farrell (who also played the lead in the film) will air in September.

The next chapter in The Batman saga is due out this month. In the new eight-part drama series from DC Studios, Colin Farrell returns as Oz Cobb, a. k. a. “The Penguin. ” This highly-anticipated follow-up goes back to the crime genre that Matt Reeves established with The Batman and is based on The Penguin’s rise to power as the new kingpin of Gotham City’s underworld.

First airs on the 20th of September on Sky Atlantic and NOW

The adventures of the Brassic gang are back on track as they struggle to get over the events that happened with Manolito. New challenges are awaiting the group in the sixth season of the show: from the crocodiles that are ready to devour people to the final farewell of one of the characters. With life getting more complex, this insane comedy program is centered on self-actualization, comedy, and feelings. The MacDonagh’s in particular are increasing their mischief, enjoying their new found power and going over the top creating chaos. Get ready for the merging of the adventurous storylines and the emphasis on the characters’ emotions.

Funny Woman S2

In the second series of Funny Woman, Sophie—Gemma Arterton—returns to the screen as the nation’s favourite television comedy actress. Nevertheless, the private life problems begin to accumulate: an unsolved mystery, an affair, a scandal, a new position, a new film job in Hollywood. Sophie’s journey in this season can be considered one of the most dramatic as she attempts to begin anew, mend broken friendships and create a show that would be close to her heart.

Black Widow

This three-part series will interest the real crime enthusiasts as it narrates the ten-year police investigation of Dena Thompson, ‘The Black Widow. ’ Although she was involved in fraud, bigamy and manipulation, she was convicted of murder in 2003 only. The series also has interviews with her victims and it is centered on her first husband and her web of deceit.

Mission to Burnley S2

Due to the success of the first series, Mission to Burnley is back for a new series of what goes on behind the scenes at Burnley FC. The upcoming season is the 2023-2024 Premier League season, and the responsibility was on the manager Vincent Kompany and the owner Alan Pace to secure the club’s place in the league. The docuseries is an up-close and personal account from the management to the dressing room as the team struggles for its survival.

This will be available from September on Sky Sports and NOW.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

This action movie sequel features Jason Momoa as Aquaman is back again. In this film, Aquaman has to team up with his half-brother Orm in order to save Atlantis from a threat that is out to destroy it. Fighting on the sea and full of fantastic graphics, this movie will surely satisfy fans of the first game.
